Second Award for the work performed for the ThosT software,

April, 2010
Elie Hachem's work rewarded by a Second price
The ECCOMAS price rewards the best european thesis of numerical methods for mechanics and Engineer sciences (March, 2010)

The ECCOMAS is the European Community on Computational Methods in Applied Sciences. It is the most famous association, grouping European Associations wich have an interests in the development and applications of computational methods.

Each year, the ECCOMAS rewards the best European thesis dealing with such matters. This year, the price has been awarded to Elie Hachem, for his thesis "Stabilized Finite Elements Method for Heat Transfer and Turbulent Flows inside Industrial Furnaces".

This price is the second one which rewards the work performed by Elie Hachem, after the SMAI GAMNI Price (see the article hereafter).

The SMAI GAMNI price of thesis is a prestigious reward awarded to the best thesis of numerical methods for mechanics and Engineer sciences (March, 2010)

This year, the SMAI GAMNI price has been presented to Elie Hachem for his thesis based on the use of Finite Element method to simulate the heat transfer coupled with turbulent flows.

Moreover, with this price, Elie Hachem has been selected to participate to the ECCOMAS which is the award for the best European Thesis. Wishing him to win a second award for his work.

Elie Hachem has realized his thesis at the CEMEF (Ecole des Mines de Paris) under the direction of Thierry Coupez and Elisabeth Massoni.

ThosT integrates his work to model the behaviour of complex flows and physic phenomena in the heating systems. This price underlines the quality of the work perfomed throughout the ThosT project.
