The XimeX V2.2 has been released in February 2010. In this release, new functionalities appear while improving some existing ones. Free Surface for Continuous Process It is now possible to use the Free Surface model on continuous process and add feeding and evacuation zones. It allows as an example, to take into account a feeding level of material inside a twin screw or in a continuous mixer (see the picture1). Meshing Computation/Flow Computation It is now possible to do only Meshing computations. It means to improve the existing meshing by launching a simple computations to get thinner meshes on the more critical zones to observe. (see the picture 2). Slipping The slipping model has been improved to apply its computation on the whole computation domain. It is, as an example, espacially useful for die balance in twin screw extrusion for wet products (agro-food). Reduction of memory occupation The structure of the XimeX files has been modified for a lighter occupation of the memory of the system. XimeX and its post treatment are also fully parallelized for a better response time. More Convenient GUI The XimeX Graphical User Interface is now more convenient. The simulation preparation is more intuitive and data (equipment reproduction, models set up, product choice, operating conditions set up...) [see the picture 3]. |
