The Fraunhofer ICT organizes on September 11, 2013 a specific workshop dedicated to the extrusion process.

On the morning, theoretical presentations about technologies and state of the art about extrusion are performed.

The afternoon is dedicated to real live experiments performed by the Fraunhofer. The experiments are then compared to some modeling realized within the Ludovic software, dedicated to corotating twin screw extrusion process.

Moreover, Woodforce is a bio-sourced reinforcement product.

This year, the experiments are performed on a classic polymer reinforced by the Woodforce dice pellets.

Experiments are done in the Fraunhofer lab to analyze the polymer sensitivity to higher screw rotation speed, higher throughput. Experiments are also compared to the simulation results provided with the Ludovic software.
