Born from the Lucomax project (a national french research project, lead by the ANR), the Lucomax commercial pre-release is aimed at the simulation of the co-kneader process. Based on a 2D model, the Lucomax software describes the material behaviour evolution inside the co-kneader.

Lucomax is used to undertake and optimize the extrusion process conditions of this specific equipment.

A specific process of extrusion

Especially used in compounding applications, the co-kneader allows a control of the temperature evolution and is especially adapted to the shear-sensitive product.
This process combines the rotation move of a single a screw and a translation of the screw, in the same time. This specific motion of the co-kneader allows to process the material in new range of shear and temperature.

Lucomax is now able to provide information about the material temperature, pressure and viscosity.
